Srantar

Here's my history of the Stantar so far:

After the creation of the Dwarves, Zahd tried to teach them the ways of mining and metalworking. Soon she grew impatient with them, and tired of their laziness, so she said “I will make a race that will always work hard, and they will great things, the greatest items in the land”

So Zahd at once went in secret to the deep caverns of the mountains of Rhyon and began her work. Twenty times she tried and failed, and made many great beasts of the mountains, until at last, she made the Srantar.

When Zahd taught the Srantar how to work with metal, they did not disappoint her. In her eyes, they were perfect in every way. And all she said came true, and the Srantar created the greatest items in the whole of Esrion.

Zahd put the Srantar in control of the beasts she made before them, and they caged the twenty beasts in great dungeons deep under the roots of the mountains.

I have a feeling there will be some trouble with the 20 beasts in the future. If you have any ideas on what they could be like, I'm totally welcome to that. Pictures would be great.

I suggest replacing humans with 'dwarves'. That would explain why the dwarves are such bitter, gruff people.

How about she first tried to teach Humans, then Dwarves, and after that she tried to create her own race, the Stantar.

Yeah, I wasn't planning any Dwarves to exist when I wrote this...

What Archon wrote about the Dwarves is good. After the Dwarves were made, she tried to teach them but later shunned them.

Dwarves could have a bitter rivality with them, due to Zahd abandoning them for the Sranter

The Dwarves are probably jealous of them, but the Srantar just sorta put the Dwarves aside, believing them to be inferior, although the Srantar's hardworking attributes are also enslaving them. The Dwarves have more free will, and enjoy themselves more. (I picture plenty of drinking form the Dwarves, but none from the Srantar.)

The srantar should care about almost nothing else except making things out of metal and jewels.

Yeah. They aren't completely heartless, or anything, but usually keep to their work. But they'll get thrown into some bigger stories here and there.

Maybe, in the prophesies, by the time of the final battle (which seems like an obvious choice for the end of Esrion,) all their stores of armor and weapons will find finally be put to good use.
