I didn't (or haven't) read it...is it worth reading?

I think I have it at the library, but I need a summary before I borrow it.

Yes, its realy cool. You can the best first read The Children of Húrin. Then you will see Sigurd and Túrin look a lot like each other.

It goes about Sigurd, son of Sigmund, son of the Volsungen-King, who is adopted by Regin, a smith. After a few years Regin gives him a sword and a horse to kill Fafnir, a dragon and Regin's brother. Regin gives the treasure of Fafnir to Sigurd but Sigurd has to cook the hearth of Fafnir, so Regin can eat it. Sigurd eats a small part of the hearth and he then can talk with birds. These birds say to Sigurd that Regin wants to kill him, so the treasure is for him. Sigurd kills Regin and frees the demon named Brynhild. Brynhild and Sigurd marry but Sigurd leaves Brynhild and goes to the kingdom of the Niflingen. There he becomes a blood-brother of Gunnar, heir of the throne, and marries Gúdrun, sister of Gunnar. When Brynhild hears that Sigurd betraied her she curses him and the Niflingen.

That's the whole story?

I have read and actually own The Children or Húrin, so I guess I'm prepped if I decide to read this book.

No, its divided in two stories. The Song of the Volsungen (about Sigurd) and The Long Song of Gúdrun (about Gúdrun). Except that you have some bored colleges of Tolkien.....and.....some appendicies about an English and Deutch version of the story,
