I heard they had a guy make an entire speakable language for the Na'vi in Avatar, just in the last few years.

They're all based of real languages:

Quenya - Finnish
Valarin - Old Babylonic
Black Speech - Hungarian
Khuzdul - Hebrewic
Rohiric - just Old English

Eo from Éomer comes from Eoh what is old-English for Horse. Eoh was the father of Eriol/EAlfwine and the grandfather of the real persons Hengest and Horsa, they conquered England.

It wasn't an entire language, it was 1200+ words though.

I've heard such mixed stuff about that movie. One person said they spent three years making the technology, and seven making the movie, one person said fifteen, others said twenty.

So I can't really believe anything I hear about the production of it unless from an official source, now.

1200 words isn't really very many... Definitely not enough to be fluent in it.

He was a writer of the Oxford Dictionary... It helped him come up with the word: hobbit. I'll show it to you guys soon...

All of the Dwarwen names are actually from old Icelandic (Norse). I have a friend from Iceland who once gave me a list off all old Norse names, so I can give names to Dwarves in RPG.
